Ingredients
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes (peeled and cut into chunks)
- 5 cloves garlic (peeled)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Place potatoes and garlic cloves in a large pot and cover with cold water by 1 inch.
- Add 1 tsp salt to the water and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until potatoes and garlic are fork-tender.
- Drain potatoes and garlic thoroughly and return to pot.
- Mash potatoes and garlic with a potato masher or ricer until smooth.
- Add butter and mix until melted and incorporated.
- Gradually add milk while stirring until desired consistency is reached.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
- To store: refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours. Reheat in a pot over low heat with a splash of milk, stirring frequently until heated through.
